Medical Services

Cross Creek Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital, located in Waynesville, MO. We provide the best possible medical care, surgical care, and dental care for our highly-valued patients. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care, and health- related educational opportunities for our clients.  Below is a list of the medical services we offer. If there is something you don't see on our list, please call us, we'd be happy to help you find the best doctor or hospital in the area to fit your needs.

Your pet’s age and health determine how frequently the doctor needs to see them, but in general we recommend most pets get a full exam once a year until they are 6 years old. As they get older we suggest an exam twice a year because major health changes can happen quickly. Puppies and kittens also require specialized care. Many pets can get vaccinations as early as 7 weeks old and need booster vaccines to stay fully protected against diseases. Talk to your vet for details on what vaccines your pet specifically needs to protect him/her best.
We also recommend your pet get examined if any of the following are occurring:
Lethargy or a big change in activity level
Refusing to eat or drink
Eating or drinking excessively
Changes in the bowel movements or urination
Excessive hair loss
Unusual discharges from an orifice
Itching, chewing, shaking of the head or scratching of the ears
Lingering foul smells anywhere on your pet
A painful or tense abdomen
If you’re not sure if your pet needs to see a doctor, please call us (573-774-3337) and a staff member can help you.

Laboratory: Cross Creek Animal Hospital staff members are trained to collect and interpret lab tests on site. We offer in-house blood tests, cytology, fecal and urinalysis. Some advanced lab work is sent outside the clinic for analysis and results are received in a timely manner.

Pharmacy: We have a fully stocked veterinary pharmacy to make your visit as quick and easy as possible. If your vet prescribes any medication, it will immediately be sent to our pharmacy staff to be sent home when you check out.  Please call us AT LEAST 24 HOURS in advance to refill a prescription to ensure it is ready when you arrive. We do not have an online pharmacy option at this time.

Vaccinations: Required vaccines vary depending on where you live and travel with your pet. Many areas require Rabies vaccinations. Check with our clinic to find out about the best ways to protect your pet.

X-ray/Radiology: Cross Creek Animal Hospital has a state of the art digital X-ray. We are able to get high quality images that can be viewed immediately from any where in the building.

Microchip Insertion & Identification: A microchip is a safe and permanent way to identify your pet. We highly recommend you have your pets microchipped. We have reunited countless lost pets with their owners just by scanning them. The chip is simple to insert at the vet clinic and does not require surgery or anesthesia.

Dermatology: The itching and hair loss associated with skin problems can be very frustrating and a difficult problem to resolve. Our doctors work with top of line products and prescription foods to help resolve your pets skin problems.

Dentistry: Dental disease and bacteria can damage the heart, liver, kidneys, lungs and brain and over 85% of dogs and cats have some type of periodontal disease. Cross Creek Animal Hospital recommends your pet’s teeth be evaluated on a yearly basis to keep them safe and healthy.

Treatment of Infectious Disease: Our hospital is equipped with an isolation ward to treat highly contagious diseases such as canine parvovirus (CPV), kennel cough or feline leukemia.

Nutritional Counseling: Skin problems, obesity, bladder stones and digestive issues are all problems that a healthy diet can help resolve. Our vets can determine if a prescription nutrition plan is right for your pet.
