Any ORAL flea & tick preventative requires a written prescription from a doctor according to State & Federal law. Frontline is a TOPICAL flea & tick preventative and does not require a prescription.
Why do I need a prescription for medications?
Veterinary medications are regulated just like human medicines, which means a doctor is not allowed to write a prescription for a medication over the phone. Veterinary medicine is regulated by the same governing bodies that regulate human medicine and are subject to the same laws.
I just put Frontline on my pet, can he/she get a bath or go swimming?

When should I bring my pet in to see a vet?
While your pet’s age and health determine how frequently the doctor needs to examine them, we recommend at least once a year until they are 6 years old. As they get older we suggest a vet examine them twice a year because major health changes can happen quickly.
Puppies and Kittens require specialized care. Both should begin vaccinations around 7 weeks old and need several booster shots to stay fully protected against disease. Talk to your vet for details on what shots your pet needs to protect him/her best.
Your pet should also be examined if they are acting unusual or exhibiting the following:
Fever
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Lethargy or a big change in activity level or behavior change
Refusing to eat or drink
Eating or drinking excessively
Changes in the bowel movements or urination
Excessive hair loss
Unusual discharges from an orifice
Itching, chewing, shaking of the head or scratching of the ears
Lingering foul smells anywhere on your pet
A painful or tense abdomen
If you are unsure if your pet should be seen, please call us and staff member can help you determine the best plan.
